The Fundy Paddlers Club's Kayak program provides organized activities for a full range of skills profiles. The club provides Activity officers to lead all it's sanctioned activities.
Visits local areas of interest like the Hopewell Cape Rocks, the L'etang Estuary, whales seals and eagles off Deer Island, the Irving Nature Park, Partridge Island, the Saint John River, the Hammond River, Bellisle Creek during the fall foliage season and the list goes on. We take you paddling to a waterfall at Lepreau Falls and many other interesting areas throughout the season.
The current Kayaking Program consists of many different focal points:
Activity Officer Training: We spend the winter months building our core trip leaders through:
Pool safety Sessions.
Safety Gear Presentations.
First Aid and First Responder courses.
Professional development courses in conjunction with CKNB and Paddle Canada.
2. Member Skills Courses: The club in conjunction with the Province are able to provided subsidized Paddle Canada courses for club members (a huge financial savings for your $15/pp or $20/p family yearly membership cost).
3. Search and Rescue Clinics: Our annual search and rescue clinic focuses on what paddlers need to know to keep out of trouble and to increase their chances of survival and being found should they find themselves in trouble.
4. Kayak Trips/Activities: In 2016 the club is offering 35 pre-planned and approved kayak trips with impromptu trips sure to pop up along the way.
5. Kayak Camping Trip: We have an overnight trip planned in 2016 for the Deer Island Area!
Organization and Risk Management: The club has worked diligently over the past few years to bring our Activity Planning, organization and risk management program on par with similar groups across the country. Ensuring your experience while on the water is second to none.
